2017 NFL Free Agency Rumors Tracker: What Happens With Tony Romo?
Day 2 of the new league year should bring answers to big remaining questions, so follow all of the March 10 NFL free agency rumors here.
During the legal tampering period, the name of the game is NFL free agency rumors. Because essentially 99 percent of the available players can’t be signed, it’s all about talks, agreements and speculation. However, Thursday at 4 p.m. ET marked the start of the new league year and the NFL free agency rumors started to become fact.

However, the biggest news of the new league year actually came via a trade. The Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans pulled off a deal that sends Brock Osweiler and a 2018 second-round pick (in addition to other picks) to Cleveland. In return, Houston clears the cap space it needs to sign Tony Romo should he become available (in addition to one pick).
What’s intriguing, however, is that Romo has not yet been released. The reports were that he would be on Thursday, but a late change of heart led to reports that the Dallas Cowboys believed they could trade Romo rather than release him, a better move for them in regards to the salary cap. Perhaps we’ll get some resolution there on Friday.
