Dallas Cowboys: 5 Early bold predictions for the 2017 season
By Jimmy Long
5. Cowboys win eight games by at least a touchdown
This prediction almost blurs the line between achievable and bold. In 2016, the Cowboys won seven such games by seven points or more. So, upping the ante by one game isn’t completely out of the picture.

What will make this tough to accomplish, is the uptick in strength of opponent. At the start of the 2016 season, the Cowboys were coming off of a fourth place NFC East finish, and therefore earned the right to play the “worst” team from each division.
Fast forward to this summer, and the Dallas Cowboys will be gearing up to place a first place schedule. One that gives them the privilege of hosting the Green Bay Packers and visiting the Atlanta Falcons. One of those teams knocked the Cowboys out of the playoffs, and the other would have won the Super Bowl if not for a comeback of epic proportions courtesy of Tom Brady.
In fact, after a brief check of the schedule, there aren’t many games that stand out as “easy wins.” The types of games that the Cowboys should win easily, and by a large margin. Regardless, if the 2017 Cowboys are to play the way we want them to (in February?) they’ll have to pull out some strong wins.
