4. Redskins win 10 games, make the playoffs

With their defensive upgrades and Gruden at the helm calling the plays, the Redskins should have no issue making the playoffs. Last season was a year of self-inflicted wounds. Take the tie with the Cincinnati Bengals, for example. If they had won that game, who knows how that would have changed the entire equation for their playoff chances.

The Redskins finished their 2016 at 8-7-1. In 2015, they finished No. 1 in the NFC East with a 9-7 record. Winning 10 games isn’t unrealistic. Here’s the breakdown of projected wins:

  •   Weeks 1 and 7 vs. Philadelphia Eagles
  •   Week 3 vs.  Oakland Raiders
  •   Week 4 vs. Kansas City Chiefs
  •   Week 8 vs. Dallas Cowboys
  •   Week 10 vs. Minnesota Vikings
  •   Week 11 vs. New Orleans Saints
  •   Week 12 vs. New York Giants
  •   Week 14 vs. L.A. Chargers
  •   Week 16 vs. Denver Broncos

The first meeting between the Redskins and the Giants is always a turning point for the Giants. Beating the Giants in their first of two meetings will truly show the Redskins defensive investments in the off season were well worth it.

Beating the Giants Week 17 would be the perfect revenge. Keep in mind, it was the Giants that shut the door on the Redskins’ chances of entering the playoffs last season. Sweeping the Giants would make the world right again.
