Oakland Raiders: Targets

The Oakland Raiders had one of the strongest offenses in the entire league last season, so there is little surprise that there will be plenty of players on that side of the ball you will want to target in upcoming drafts. It is important to remember that while you should probably take all of these players from one team, this is a list of players who should likely have strong seasons and you can target based on where you are picking in your drafts.

More from NFL Spin Zone

The first player that I like for the 2017 season is wide receiver Michael Crabtree. Currently, Crabtree has an ADP of 48.8, which is in the fifth round of most leagues and 22nd wide receiver drafted. This is much too low for Crabtree, who finished last season as the 39th best player in fantasy and the 11th best receiver. There is no reason that I think we would see Crabtree’s production decline in 2017. He will still play behind Amari Cooper, but Cooper spreads out defenses enough for Crabtree to benefit from. If Crabtree is on the board in the late fourth or fifth round I would be happy to take him there.

Quarterback Derek Carr is another key player on the Raiders that I think is worth a pick. Carr currently has an ADP of 70.3 and is the seventh quarterback off the board. One of the reasons I like Carr so much this season is where he is being taken. I am a strong believer in not taking a quarterback until at least the fifth round, preferably later.

Carr is available in the seventh or eighth round, depending on the size of your league. Carr finished last season as the ninth best quarterback and he only played 15 games. Carr has the potential to be a top six or seven quarterback this season and I would rather have him in the eighth round than take another quarterback in the fourth.
