The New York Giants take on the Cleveland Browns on Monday, Aug. 21 in the 2017 NFL preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Two teams that finished on opposite ends of the spectrum in 2016 will meet in Week 2 of the 2017 NFL Preseason. The New York Giants finished 11-5 and in the post season whereas the Cleveland Browns won just one game all season and wound up with the first overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
That pick was used to secure Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett, who will play his first Monday Night Football game. All eyes will be on him during his limited time on the field as Garrett is viewed as a game changer for their defense. There were two other first round picks and a quarterback taken in round two — DeShone Kizer from Notre Dame. None bring the hope that Garrett does though.
For New York, they hope to find a more balanced offense. With wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. they were an explosive offense and they added rookie tight end Evan Engram and veteran receiver Brandon Marshall, but passing isn’t their issue. The Giants have struggled to run the ball consistently.

Of course the preseason isn’t the place to show that off as usually the passing game is the area of focus and may stay that way on Monday Night. What it could be is a chance to see how much progress Manning and his new weapons have made together as they look to finish atop the NFC East after settling for a wildcard spot last year.
