A recent study shows that Arizona Cardinals fans will spend the most money in 2017 than any other fan base.

Did you ever think it was expensive being a fan of your favorite sports team? Of course. Dumb question. But as an Arizona Cardinals fan, did you ever think you’d be shelling out more bucks to watch your favorite team than any other fan base? Probably not.

A recent study put together by HomeToGo shows that Cardinals fans will spend more money in 2017 following their team than any other fan base. How much will the average fan spend? $6,774.21.

The study was put together by the crew at HomeToGo with a goal of giving fans a resource into finding the best deals possible while trying to not break the bank. The NFL Price Index shows what, on average, each fan base can expect to pay if they travel to and from every single game.

HomeToGo used five pricing items when structuring their study: ticket price of home and away games, cost of beer at home and away games, cost of a hot dog at home and away games, transportation to away games and the cost of accommodation (at least five hours away from home city) to away games including games played in the UK.

Cardinals fans’ biggest expense is cost of transportation, amounting to $4,007 dollars. Tickets, beer, hot dogs and accommodations would cost $1,482.03, $114.25, $72.94 and $1,097.99, respectively.

The large expense will be when Arizona travels to London to play the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 22. If you want to skip that contest and watch it from the cheap confines of you’re own man cave, feel free. Nobody blames you. But if you’re looking to see the first Cardinals game played in London (first regular season game) since 1983, then we wish you safe travels.

The whole NFL Price Index put together is pretty remarkable. You’re especially happy if you’re a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In 2017, the cost of taking in every Steelers game will only cost you $3,983.25 which is $23.75 cheaper than what Cardinals fans will pay just to travel.

Unfortunately it’s not possible to see every single game live and in person but if it was it’d cost $157,625.98 to pull it off, or .0011767 percent of Matthew Stafford‘s new $135 million dollar contract. Are you one of the Cardinals fans planning on making it to all 16 games in 2017?
