The Houston Texans take on the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, Aug. 31 in the 2017 NFL preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Hurricane Harvey has devastated the Houston area and all thoughts and prayers need to be with those affected by it. As for the football field, the NFL had some decisions to make regarding the game between the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys.

Instead, the game was moved to Arlington, TX as the Cowboys will host the annual preseason match between the in-state rivals. All tickets are $25 and the proceeds will go to benefit in the Hurricane Harvey relief. A noble move that will help greatly.

For the players it’s their last chance to make an impression. Some will be trying to make the Texans or Cowboys roster, others will be putting tape out there for when they become free agents at the massive cutdown this weekend.

For Dallas people like running back Rod Smith and receivers Noah Brown and Lance Lenoir will try and make the cut. For Houston guys like guard David Quessenberry and running back Akeem Hunt will try and do the same.

Unfortunately, the disaster and tragedy of Hurricane Harvey has largely affected many areas of Texas, but Houston in particular. Initially, the NFL decided to move this game from Houston to Dallas because of the hurricane.

However, they then came to another conclusion, one that is ultimately the right one. This game has been cancelled so that the Texans can go be with their loved ones during this time. For a league that often makes questionable calls, this wasn’t one of them. Instead, this was the best move for all involved.

As always, best wishes and thoughts and prayers to those affected by Hurricane Harvey.
