New York Jets: 3 Players with rising stock after Week 2
3. Josh McCown
The 38-year old veteran signal-caller has not compiled gaudy numbers but he has been a steady presence in the pocket so far. McCown has completed 67 percent of his passes and is coming off a fine performance against the Raiders. He completed 17-of-25 throws for 166 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions and finished the contest with a 113.1 QB rating.

McCown was the main reason why the Jets were in the game in the first half against Oakland. He seems to have developed a nice rapport with wide receiver Jermaine Kearse. The two veterans have connected on 11 pass receptions, including two touchdowns against the Raiders. McCown has also been an effective scrambler as well, rambling for 31 yards on six carries and a touchdown.
The Jacksonville, TX native is now with his eighth NFL squad and is not going to remind anyone of Tom Brady or Drew Brees. He is certainly not the quarterback of the future for the Jets. Far from it. However, in a season that has gotten off to such a rocky start for Gang Green, McCown has been one of their best performers. His 15 years of experience has really shone through with his ability to audible at the line of scrimmage and check into the correct play. He’s has been a true bright spot in a dark season to date.
