Week 3 of the 2017 NFL season is already upon us, and we have ourselves an anomaly. The struggling Cleveland Browns (0-2) are a favored team on the road as they take on the listless Indianapolis Colts (0-2). Neither of these franchises have been incredibly impressive through the first two weeks, but the home team has a valid excuse for some of their struggles.

Star quarterback Andrew Luck has yet to return to action after undergoing shoulder surgery in the offseason. While his absence hurts, the Colts made it worse on themselves by trying to go with Scott Tolzien as his backup. After a couple preseason outings they made a trade for Jacoby Brissett, who started after just a couple of weeks with the team and looked much better than Tolzien despite the team still losing.

Cleveland isn’t missing anyone, they’re just in the middle of a major rebuild. They had three first round picks in the 2017 NFL Draft and have pretty much two full drafts coming up in the 2018 edition. Eventually it should turn into a talented team, but there’s still a lot to fix in the “Factory of Sadness.”

Indianapolis should feel a little better with Brissett having a full game under his belt with the team. He may have thrown their last game away in the end, but at least he gave them a shot until that moment.
