Fantasy Football 2017: 5 Biggest takeaways from Week 3
By Dan Thomas
4. Jordan Howard Isn’t Dead
I’ll tell you right now: I sucked this week when it came to fantasy football suggestions/predictions. It was without a doubt my worst week since writing about fantasy football. One of my biggest whiffs was not only predicting a bad week for Bears running back Jordan Howard, but pretty much writing him off for the season.

Howard has been dealing with an injury and the team’s backup running back, Tarik Cohen, has been a game-changer on the football field. How did Howard respond in Week 3 in a tough matchup? He went for 138 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries and chipped in five receptions for 26 yards. He’s currently the second-best fantasy football running back for Week 3.
3. The Tight End Position Continues to be a Crap-Shoot
Last year the tight end position was such a headache all season long. So far in 2017, the trend is continuing. Right now, Jaguars Marcedes Lewis is this week’s top tight end after catching three touchdown passes against the Ravens. Texans Ryan Griffin is ranked No. 4, Vernon Davis No. 5, Luke Willson No. 8 and Lance Kendricks No. 11.
Last week’s second-best fantasy football tight end, Chiefs Travis Kelce, is currently ranked 52nd among tight ends in Week 3.
