Fantasy Football: Chiefs vs. Redskins top game of Week 4
By Dan Salem
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Washington Redskins is must-watch this weekend, and it’s also the best Fantasy Football matchup in Week 4.
Each Sunday during the NFL season, certain games stand out. These are not necessarily the games with the most on the line or with the most impact on the standings. Instead, these contests hold the most star power and fantasy football implications.

These are the games every fan needs to watch, from the die hard to the guy pressured into joining a fantasy league with work associates. This is the fantasy football game of the week for NFL Week 4.
Two brothers from New York, Dan Salem and Todd Salem, debate Fantasy Football in today’s NFL Sports Debate.
Fantasy Football Week 4
I never would have guessed that a Thursday night matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers would have ended up being the best game of Week 3. None of the details add up. And these two weren’t the only teams who ventured out of unwatchable territory in Week 3. Throw the Jaguars, Bills, Bears, Saints, Bengals, and even the Jets into a category of respectability. Week 4 feels like square one again. What is the fantasy football game of the week?
Game of the Week
Todd Salem: Is Rams vs. Cowboys an elite fantasy matchup all of a sudden? I can’t believe in the Rams, even as the evidence mounts that this is a powerful offensive squad under new head coach Sean McVay. Panthers vs. Patriots would be a fun one, if something didn’t feel slightly off about both clubs, Carolina especially. They are too injured on offense to be the team we thought they could be.
Since I can’t talk myself into the LA Rams just yet, (after all, their two wins are over Indy and San Francisco) my choice for fantasy football game of the week is the Monday night battle between the Washington Redskins and Kansas City Chiefs.
Washington has all the weapons we know about: Kirk Cousins, hopefully healthy Fat Rob Kelley and Jordan Reed, Jamison Crowder, and Terrelle Pryor. They also have one of the most surprising fantasy studs this side of Kareem Hunt, Chris Thompson. Along with four touchdowns in three games, Thompson has a 60+ yard run, a 70+ yard reception, and a 29-yard reception.

The only guy making bigger plays in the league right now is Hunt, who will be facing Thompson in this contest. Hunt is a revelation. It is odd to think what type of snap count he would be receiving if Spencer Ware hadn’t gotten hurt. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Hunt is the first player in league history with a 50+ yard touchdown in each of his first three NFL games. He is also second all-time in yards from scrimmage in his first three games, trailing only Billy Simms in 1980.
And oh by the way, the Chiefs also employ Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, and Alex Smith. Smith being a fun and exciting quarterback may be the biggest upset of the season, but he’s one of the reasons Kansas City is must-watch.
Dan Salem: Two other games will have me tuning in this weekend, even if they are second to the obvious choice for fantasy football game of the week. Kansas City vs. Washington has the most star power and the biggest studs in fantasy to start the season. Plus, both teams are playing great football right now, making this an excellent matchup in and of itself. But Oakland vs. Denver and Detroit vs. Minnesota offer great fantasy excitement as well!
I love Raiders versus Broncos because both quarterbacks have played two great games and one average game. Derek Carr and Trevor Siemian are playing great football and racking up fantasy points for themselves and their wide receivers. While Denver does have a great defense, this game is likely an offensive show of force. It’s an AFC West showdown between two teams that appear headed to the playoffs. Plus, there are a ton of fantasy studs on both teams! Even Denver’s defense is a great fantasy option, making this an excellent alternative to our game of the week.
Maybe this is wishful thinking, but I’m hoping Detroit versus Minnesota is also a great fantasy football game to watch. The Lions disappointed us last weekend against the Falcons, meaning Matthew Stafford and co. are due to bounce back. The Vikings bounced back in a big way last Sunday, making me a believer in their offense. Stefon Diggs won many owners their week with his two-touchdown performance, his second such game of the young season. I question the defense of both the Lions and Vikings, making this a potentially great game for fantasy football.

This season has been particularly volatile thus far, with few proven fantasy studs delivering each week. Only the Kansas City Chiefs have truly remained consistent. Until proven otherwise, they are must watch. Its Chiefs vs. Redskins this week in fantasy football. I’ll be watching.
