Fantasy Football 2017: 10 Deep sleepers for Week 5
By Dan Thomas
5. Elijah McGuire, RB, New York Jets (12.6 percent owned)
Last week McGuire finished as the eight-best fantasy football running back after combining for 131 yards and one touchdown on 12 touches. This week he should once again see double-digit touches with Matt Forte already ruled out for Sunday.
It’s doubtful McGuire will finish as a top-10 fantasy running back for the second consecutive week, but after his performance in Week 4, it’s easy to see what kind of upside the rookie has.
4. Wayne Gallman, RB, New York Giants (22.3 percent owned)

When Paul Perkins went down with an injury last week, the rookie Gallman saw more playing time and as a result, finished with 13 touches, 50 yards and one touchdown. With Gallman, toting the rock, the Giants run game didn’t make me want to throw up. Perkins has already been ruled out for Week 5, so Gallman is the easy favorite to lead the Giants backfield in touches for the second-straight week.
3. Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, New York Jets (31.9 percent owned)
In the only two games ASJ has played in so far this season, he has combined for 9 receptions and 77 yards on 10 targets. Those numbers might not be anything spectacular but it does make him the 14th ranked PPR tight end over the last two weeks.
This week the Jets take on the Cleveland Browns who just gave up four touchdown passes to Andy Dalton and two of those touchdown passes went to tight end Tyler Kroft. Don’t be surprised when ASJ scores his first touchdown of the season on Sunday.
