Nothing has been crazier than the highs and lows of fantasy in 2017. Do you favor passing or rushing in NFL Week 6? What is your Fantasy Football game of the week?

Each Sunday during the NFL season, certain games stand out. These are not necessarily the games with the most on the line or with the most impact on the standings. Instead, these contests hold the most star power and fantasy football implications.

These are the games every fan needs to watch, from the die hard to the guy pressured into joining a fantasy league with work associates. This is the fantasy football game of the week for NFL Week 6.

Two brothers from New York, Dan Salem and Todd Salem, debate Fantasy Football in today’s NFL Sports Debate.

Fantasy Football Week 6

All four of the teams involved in our respective picks for fantasy game of the week last week topped 30 points. The quartet combined to score 142, though those fun outcomes were somewhat soured by the major injuries that littered the league. Injuries are hardly news because of how often they occur, but losing the likes of Odell Beckham Jr. and J.J. Watt for the season will alter your feelings in a major way.

Game of the Week

Todd Salem: Looking ahead to Week 6, I had imagined the Sunday afternoon game between the Chiefs and Steelers was going to be a big one. Now that Ben Roethlisberger may be cooked, I can’t garner as much interest, even as Kansas City continues to steamroll fools.

Instead, our fantasy game of the week is something that would have knocked the wind out of me just a month ago: Los Angeles Rams vs. Jacksonville Jaguars!

The LA Rams, even after facing a stifling Seattle defense, are the No. 4 offense in the league. They are also one of just two teams averaging more than 30 points per game. With Tavon Austin back doing football things, Los Angeles has five fantasy weapons at the disposal of Jared Goff. Todd Gurley, one of those weapons, is in the early running for Offensive Player of the Year.

That offense is set to face the second-ranked scoring defense in the NFL in the Jaguars. Jacksonville isn’t messing around on that side of the ball. It leads the league in sacks, interceptions, takeaways, and turnover differential. Shout-out to that last figure, indicating the Jaguars offense may not be as messy as previously thought. Plus, Leonard Fournette is the baddest battering ram in the sport, and Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee are doing their best filling in for Allen Robinson.

Dan Salem: Its hard to argue with Rams vs. Jaguars. Both teams have been dominating the fantasy football landscape this season. This will be an excellent matchup with monster fantasy implications on both sides of the football. But I must nominate another game for our Week 6 fantasy football game of the week. It’s simply better.

The Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings is our fantasy game of the week. Last Sunday, the Packers and Cowboys put on a show. Not much defense, but that’s great for fantasy football! I expect the Packers and Vikings to have a similar outcome, with both teams raking up the points. Green Bay is starting to really click offensively and the Vikings have been sneaky good this season.

Set aside Minnesota’s quarterback, because we don’t know who that will be just yet. Teddy Bridgewater might start practicing this week and Sam Bradford might be ready to play again. But Stefon Diggs is getting his stats no matter who throws him the football. Minnesota has scored over 20 points in three of their five games this season. Only the Lions stellar defense and a surprising effort by the Steelers held them in check. With the Vikings at home this week, I expect their offense to turn things on once again versus the average Green Bay defense.

I love this matchup because it also has huge implications for the NFC North division race. A Packers win sets them apart at 5-1, but a Vikings victory evens the playing field. Both teams would then be tied at 4-2 and Minnesota would hold the Green Bay tiebreaker, while currently losing the tiebreaker to the Lions. Plus, Aaron Rodgers is probably the most exciting quarterback to watch right now. He is must-see TV.

Todd Salem: I would be with you if we knew more about either team’s running game. Is Aaron Jones for real? Will Minnesota get anything beyond a long run from Jerick McKinnon? Passing rules the day, but it’s only half (roughly) of the fantasy equation. Bring on Week 6!
