Michael Crabtree vs. Trevor Williams

Whether Derek Carr or E.J. Manuel starts at quarterback, Michael Crabtree will have to have a good game for this offense to produce points. Oakland’s other top receiving option, Amari Cooper, is having a terrible start to the season. The Raiders simply do not have the depth to score a lot of points without Cooper and Crabtree producing. Thankfully for the Raiders, Crabtree is looking good in the early part of the season, unlike Cooper.

Crabtree missed Week 4 with an injury. However, in the four games he has played, Crabtree has a catch rate of 79.2 percent, which is a career-high. Crabtree also leads the team in receiving yards per game (63) and touchdowns (4). In fact, Crabtree’s four touchdowns to start the year is already half of what he had throughout the entire 2016 season when he also lead the team.

Cornerback Trevor Williams will certainly have his hands full in this game. Williams is a talented corner, grading as the 22nd best at his position in the league according to Pro Football Focus Edge. However, Crabtree is an amazing player with the chance to go off at any moment, as illustrated by his three-touchdown performance in Week 2.

Especially if Carr is back and Cooper continues to struggle, Crabtree will see a ton of targets on Sunday. It will be interesting to see if Williams can keep up.
