8. Todd Bowles

Todd Bowles had a great start, just barely missing the playoffs in 2016 and finishing 10-6. Then, the debacle of 2016 when he finished 4-12 and couldn’t do the right thing at quarterback transpired, but his hands may have been tied from upstairs.

Bowles had to have felt the pressure to keep Ryan Fitzpatrick in due to the ridiculous deal that he signed during the 2016 offseason. Then, the Jets paid for it. New York finished 4-14 and ended up starting three quarterbacks in 2016.

The 2017 offseason began with a flurry of moves. First veteran cuts came. Then the Jets moved around all throughout the draft. Fans and the media cried of tanking when they cut some fan favorite veterans in what was clearly cap space maneuvering for 2018. However, this team has shown they can overcome adversity, and grow together.

After starting 2017 at 0-2, Bowles and the Jets reeled off three consecutive wins for the second time in his tenure. It’s also the 45th time in franchise history the Jets have had three consecutive regular season wins. Bowles could be the coach that finally gets this franchise over the hump, but only time will tell on that.
