New York Giants vs. Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos will host the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football in Week 6 of the NFL season. The Giants are still looking for their first win of the season after blowing a fourth-quarter lead at home against the Los Angeles Chargers last week.

As if losing wan’t bad enough, the Giants lost their top four receivers to injury in that game, including star Odell Beckham Jr. Three of the four receivers injured in that game, including Beckham, will miss the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, the Broncos have looked elite at some points this season, but only slightly above average at others. Coming off their bye, they’ll be looking to prove themselves.

Keys to Victory

The Giants are going to need to find a way to have offensive production in this game. With Beckham and the other receivers out, Roger Lewis will be only active receiver on the team that has a reception this season. Lewis has a total of eight receptions for 102 yards this season, including one catch for a 29-yard touchdown last week. The Giants have been working out receivers this week, but if they sign anyone it is hard to imagine them producing on an offense they haven’t had time to learn.

If the passing game cannot put up points, running the ball might be the only option. That is unfortunate for a Giants team ranked 30th in rushing yards per game as they face the league’s top rushing defense.

With the expected struggles of the Giants defense, the Broncos should need to play their game to win. Denver enters this game averaging 143 rushing yards per game. If they continue this pace they will be able to control the tempo and wear out the New York defense.

Assuming the Giants offense struggles, their defense will be on the field for much of the game. As the game progresses expect the Giants to struggle to defend the run.

Prediction

On paper this game doesn’t seen close. The Broncos are 3-0 at home this season, while the Giants have not won a game yet. New York has been disappointing on both sides of the ball through the first five games of the season, and the offense is likely to only get worse after the devastating injuries they suffered last week. You never know what will happen in the NFL, but this game appears one-sided.

Final Score: New York Giants: 10, Denver Broncos: 34
