4. Get Ready to Hate the Patriots Backfield

In case you missed it, yesterday’s most productive fantasy football running back on the New England Patriots was Dion Lewis. If you didn’t see that coming don’t feel bad because Lewis was only started in 1.1 percent of ESPN leagues and to be honest, I’m shocked he was started in that many.

More from Fantasy Football

Week 1’s darling, Mike Gillislee, fumbled the ball early in the game and did not see the field much after that. He only finished with 2.4 fantasy points. So Lewis is the guy owners need to pick up off of waivers this week, right? I’m not sure because the Patriots have a history to zig when others expect them to zag. Oh and don’t forget: Rex Burkhead might be returning from injury in Week 7.

if you have stock in the Patriots backfield, have fun trying to figure out this mess of a situation.

3. Is Jerick McKinnon a RB1?

In back-to-back games, Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon has finished with 24+ fantasy points and is ranked as the No. 3 fantasy football running back in that span. If McKinnon continues to touch the ball 20+ times a game like he has the last two weeks, there’s no reason why he can’t be a top-10 fantasy football every week. If you were smart enough to pick McKinnon off of waivers, give yourself a pat on the back because the guy appears to be a league-changer.
