New Orleans Saints vs. Green Bay Packers

Two of the best teams in the NFC face off when the New Orleans Saints head to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. Well, at least one of them was one of the best NFC teams this season.

What originally was a highly-anticipated matchup has lost a lot of its luster. With an injured Aaron Rodgers and uncertainty at quarter, the Packers look destined for a horrible season. For the Saints, quite the opposite is true. They have transcended the 7-9 seasons talks and are looking for their fourth-straight win.

Both teams have a lot on the line and a win or loss here could seal their fate for the rest of the season.

Keys to Victory

A little bit obvious here, but it all comes down to how Brett Hundley performs. Considering he just notched his first NFL start, it doesn’t look good. There were some high points for Hundley who did throw one touchdown to Davante Adams and when the Packers ran play-action to give Hundley more time in the pocket.

Obviously, expecting him to fill Rodgers’ role is silly because Rodgers had a lot of experience, practice and time to become the quarterback he is. With Hundley thrust into this role, the coaching staff needs to adapt to him. They need to run plays Hundley will be able to get something out of but mostly, focus on his strengths. Getting Hundley comfortable out there and able to make plays is going to the team’s biggest key to victory. Without a solid quarterback to lead, the team falls apart.

The Saints are showing they already have the keys to victory, but this week they need to focus on their defense. The team is riding the wave of the Lions game where the team nabbed three interceptions and they need to keep up the momentum. They need to focus on getting takeaways, but get the pressure on Hundley.

Giving Hundley a few extra seconds could result in a first down or a score. The defense needs to play as gritty and tough as they did last week. Get the pressure on Hundley so he can’t make big plays, snag a few interceptions and recover costly fumbles. It should be a cakewalk for the team who did all that and more last week against the Lions.

Prediction

Normally, I’d be all in for Green Bay but with all the questions marks surrounding them, the Saints are the more favorable choice. They’re hot right now and have the slight edge over the Packers. It does look to be a good game, though, so no worries. The Saints will predictably start off strong and keep a lead throughout the entire game.

Final Score: New Orleans Saints: 34, Green Bay Packers: 17
