4. Is Blake Bortles Actually Fantasy Football Relevant?

Don’t look now but it looks like the former UCF Knight is making a comeback in fantasy football. Yesterday Blake Bortles had his first 300-yard passing game of the season and has averaged over 14 fantasy points per game over the last five weeks. I’m not saying Bortles is going to make a run and become a top-five fantasy quarterback this season, but he’s not totally irrelevant either.

Remember, over the first six games this season, Bortles has been the better fantasy quarterback than Steelers Ben Roethlisberger, but Big Ben is owned in over four times as many ESPN leagues. With Aaron Rodgers unlikely to come back this fantasy season and Carson Palmer going down yesterday with a season-ending injury (more on that in a second), Bortles might make sense as a streamer in the right spots.

3. The Cardinals Offense is in Trouble

Throughout the first six games this season, it was hard to trust Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer in fantasy football because he was inconsistent. With his broken arm, Palmer is no longer usable, but on top of that, the entire Cardinals offense will now suffer.

We got a glimpse of the Cardinals new starting quarterback Drew Stanton after he went 5-of-14 for 62 yards and one interception in yesterday’s game. He does not have the skill-set to be a starting quarterback in the NFL and I truly don’t even believe he’s a capable backup. Defenses will now stack the box against the Cardinals and it’s hard to believe Adrian Peterson will have the kind of success he had in Week 6 in any game moving forward.

Starting wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald went into Week 7 as the third-best PPR wide receiver but you better believe those numbers will regress without Palmer. If you can trade Fitzgerald while his stock isn’t totally shot, I would do just that.
