2. Run defense played an outstanding game

Sure, we can all give praise to the Chargers for getting five sacks on Trevor Siemien on Sunday afternoon, but the real excitement should be around how well there defense played against the run. We all knew that the Broncos were struggling on offense heading into the weekend and the X-factor would be whether they could get CJ Anderson going early in the football game.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Not only did he struggle in the first-half, but Los Angeles kept him under 50 total rushing yards for the game in Week 7. Needless to say, this was easily the best defensive-performance we have seen from the Bolts in 2017.

Defensive coordinator Gus Bradley deserves a ton of praise for how well his defense performed against Denver. His unit was one of the worst in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game and yet, they gave an inspired effort on Sunday afternoon for the home crowd.

It’s these types of games that get fans and player believing in what they can accomplish moving forward. Allowing too many yards on the ground killed the Chargers through the first four weeks of the year. However, this could potentially be the start of a coming out party for an up-and-coming Los Angeles defense.
