3. Melvin Gordon will bounce-back from poor Week 7 performance

Even though the Chargers were able to get a huge win over rival Denver in Week 7, Melvin Gordon didn’t have a good day at the office. Gordon had only 38 rushing yards on 18 carries and one reception for eight yards against the Broncos. We knew he could potentially have a rough day against a very stout Broncos defensive-front, but we didn’t know he would be that unproductive.

More from Los Angeles Chargers

With that said, the former Wisconsin Badgers running back could have a huge game on Sunday afternoon against the Patriots. Not only is New England struggling to stop the pass this season, but they are also failing to keep opposing offenses from running the football with success.

Needless to say, it probably shouldn’t surprise you that the Pats are giving up a total of 116.4 yards on the ground per game, which places them in the 22nd spot in the NFL – something we’re not used to seeing from a Bill Belichick coached football team.

If Melvin Gordon does indeed get going early in the football game, it’s going to be extremely hard to stop him from having a humongous  game in the stat-column. That will definitely make his fantasy owners happy and could prove to be the biggest difference between these two squads in Week 8.
