Round 2, Pick 16: Derrick Nnadi, DL – Florida State

The Green Bay defense has struggled to limit yards by opposing offenses. Through the first seven games, the Packers rank 27th in rushing yards allowed, allowing 125.7 yards per game. A bad run defense could end up devestating as the Packers are in the same division as the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings, who rank seventh and eighth in rushing yards per game respectively.

Drafting Derrick Nnadi out of Florida State is a huge step in stopping the run for Green Bay. Nnadi is a powerhouse on the defensive line, currently considered the second-best defensive tackle in the nation despite still being projected as a second-round pick.

Nnadi is 6-0 and 312 pounds of pure run-stopping force. Since the start of the 2016 season, Nnadi has recorded seven sacks and 16 tackles for loss in just 18 games. Nnadi was awarded First-Team All-ACC honors by coaches for his 2016 season. Florida State may be struggling right now, which could affect his draft stock.

However, Nnadi could still end up as the first round pick depending on how he finishes his college career and what he shows at the NFL Combine. Either way, there are few players in the draft that could have as much of an immediate impact on defense than Nnadi could.
