Fantasy Football 2017: 10 Deep sleepers for Week 9
By Dan Thomas
8. Tyler Kroft, TE, Cincinnati Bengals (38.6 percent owned)
Kroft now has 4+ receptions in four straight games and he also has three touchdowns during that span. Believe it or not, between Weeks 4-8 Kroft has been the seventh-best PPR tight end when it comes to points per game. The matchup with the Jaguars might scare owners but it shouldn’t. When teams throw the ball against Jacksonville, they want to avoid their cornerbacks and therefore, more passes are funneled to their tight ends. Kroft is a good bet to finish his fifth-straight game with four-or-more receptions.
7. Marquise Goodwin, WR, San Francisco 49ers (9.2 percent owned)

Goodwin goes into Week 9 ranked as the 57th PPR wide receiver (according to ESPN) but his second-half performance should be better than his first-half. The team’s No. 1 wide receiver, Pierre Garcon, went on injured reserve (26th PPR wide receiver) and is out for the season. Goodwin is tied for second on the team in targets and is second on the team in receiving yards. With Garcon out, he’ll get more opportunities.
6. Tyler Lockett, WR, Seattle Seahawks (44.7 percent owned)
Lockett isn’t getting as much attention on the Seahawks compared to some of their other pass-catchers but as we’ve seen with him, he can explode at any point. Last week he finished with 121 receiving yards (season-high) and has averaged 11+ PPR performances over his last four games. With the Seahawks passing-getting better by the week, Lockett is a solid FLEX play for Week 9.
