A confluence of events is happening that has set this in motion. They lost three heart-breaking games, two of which were division games. They come off a dominating win, and they can go into their bye week at .500. On top of all that they’re facing a bad defense.
It’s a perfect storm of events, and it could set up to be a franchise record-setting day. If they want to be a legitimate contender they’re also going to have to win on the road, and that something they haven’t done much of this season. They’re 1-3 on the road this season.
The Jets are a young and hungry bunch of players who’ve been disrespected. They want respect. Well they know they have to earn respect. In this league there’s one way to earn respect and be taken seriously. You must beat up on an inferior opponent, and based on the way the Jets have played this season, the Buccaneers are an inferior opponent.
