One matchup is easily best, but three more games are sneaky great! This is your Fantasy Football 2017 Game of the Week for Week 14.

Each week during the NFL season, certain games stand out. These are not necessarily the games with the most on the line or with the most impact on the standings. Instead, they hold the most star power and fantasy football implications.

These are the games every fan needs to watch, from the die hard to the guy pressured into joining a fantasy league with work associates. This is the fantasy football 2017 game of the week for NFL Week 14.

Two brothers from New York, Dan Salem and Todd Salem, debate Fantasy Football 2017 in today’s NFL Sports Debate.

Fantasy Football 2017 Week 14

Week 14 is another great slate of games, making up for a truly putrid first couple months of the season. Six games have opponents with records of .500 or better. Playoff positioning will be on the line. That’s not what we are concerned with, though. We are in search of the fantasy football 2017 game of the week.

Game of the Week

Todd Salem: The answer is a simple one for Week 14. It’s Philadelphia Eagles at Los Angeles Rams. That is the correct answer; there is no debate. Let’s instead address the sneakiest best fantasy game of the week. How about New York Jets at Denver Broncos? I know, I’m as surprised as you are!

The Jets are the best New York team in the NFL. They have a veteran, retread quarterback playing the best football of his career outside of half a season with the Bears in 2013. Bilal Powell and Matt Forte seamlessly switched jobs this season, and both are excelling. And then there are the breakouts of wide receivers Robby Anderson and Jermaine Kearse. Who would have thought that Josh McCown would get more out of Kearse than Russell Wilson ever could.

The Jets have scored at least 27 points in back-to-back weeks following their bye. Enter the dumpster fire of the Denver Broncos. Denver has lost eight straight games following its bye week, but this is an endlessly fascinating team! The quarterback lazy susan is fascinating enough. Whoever plays immediately makes the Jets defense fantasy-relevant. But the Broncos also have a number of skill players who could emerge or disappear depending on the play of that QB.

Demaryius Thomas was thrown to 10 times last week but finished with just two catches. Before that, he had caught at least five passes in five straight and six of his last seven games. C.J. Anderson topped 100 total yards last week; the week before he finished with 12 yards from scrimmage. Aren’t the Broncos fun?! You never know what you’re going to get. With this being the last week of many fantasy leagues’ regular seasons, trusting a Bronco could make or break the season.

Dan Salem: You are correct, the Eagles versus Rams is the best game of the week in Fantasy Football or otherwise. Prolific offense meets prolific offense in a battle for NFC supremacy. I love this! I also love the praise for my New York Jets. They have been sneaky good in fantasy for weeks, so its on Denver to step up. If New York’s secondary gives it up like they did against Kansas City, then the Broncos will also provide excellent fantasy performers. This is 50/50 in my opinion, but I love this game as a sneaky good pick.

Let me provide another incredible game between two playoff hopefuls. Seattle Seahawks versus Jacksonville Jaguars will either be a home run or a clunker. There is no in between! The Seahawks keep improving, or at least playing up to their competition. Jacksonville has one of the best defenses in football. Can Seattle overcome it? Will the Jaguars keep rolling? We can see great fantasy days across the board here, or a defensive struggle of epic proportions. I lean towards the former, with Russell Wilson continuing his pitch for MVP.

What about the Washington Redskins versus Los Angeles Chargers? Both Kirk Cousins and Philip Rivers have been phenomenal fantasy football 2017 players, last week aside. Both teams desperately need a win to stay in the playoff hunt and neither has played great defense. We could see a lot of points flying around in this game. Its another sneaky great matchup!

I’m particularly pleased with the matchups in Week 14. The NFL keeps jamming divisional games into the final month, but this season the out of conference games are great down the stretch as well. Nothing like saving the best for last!
