1. Chargers control their own playoff destiny

If there’s one scenario which Los Angeles can have a 100 percent chance of making the AFC Playoffs in 2017, it’s by winning their next three games in-a-row. Currently, the Chargers and Chiefs are both tied with 7-6 records. Plus, these bitter AFC West rivals will meet in Week 15 for a winner-take-all contest.

Needless to say, whoever wins the game next weekend will be in the driver’s seat heading into the last two weekends of 2017. If Los Angeles can escape Arrowhead Stadium with a victory, they’ll be looking at an opportunity to win the divisional-crown against the Jets on Christmas Eve. However, the Bolts will need a Dolphins victory over the Chiefs that weekend to clinch that playoff spot.

Believe me, trusting Miami to beat Kansas City is something you shouldn’t count on, but we’ve seen stranger things happen. You know, like an 0-4 football team competing for the postseason 10 weeks later.

Again, Chargers fans should feel pretty darn excited that their squad can still win the division without complicated circumstances. If Los Angeles wins three straight, they’ll be hosting a playoff game in January.
