The Buffalo Bills defeated the Indianapolis Colts 13-7 in a snowstorm to take control of the last Wild Card spot.

The Buffalo Bills entered Sunday’s Week 14 game against the Indianapolis Colts at 6-6, on the outside looking in of the playoffs. Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor was forced to sit out with a knee injury, so backup quarterback Nathan Peterman was the Bills starter.

Peterman was forced to leave the game with a head injury and is currently in concussion protocol after taking a hit to the head from Colts linebacker Antonio Morrison. Peterman finished the game 5-of-10 for 57 yards and a touchdown. The stats weren’t spectacular due to Peterman having to deal with a blizzard. He was replaced by Joe Webb.

The Bills and Colts had to deal with treacherous conditions all game, which halted the passing game for both teams, as Peterman and third-string quarterback Joe Webb combined for only 92 yard. The Bills were able to sneak out a win against the Colts, winning 13-7 in overtime. Running back LeSean McCoy was the main reason the Bills got the win, as he rushed for 156 yards on 32 carries, including the game-winning touchdown in overtime.

More from Buffalo Bills

Sunday’s win propels the Bills to 7-6, and keeps them still in the playoff hunt. The Bills are currently sitting in the final Wild Card spot in the AFC after Baltimore lost to the Steelers, dropping them to 7-6 also. Although the Bills currently hold a Wild Card spot, the road to the playoffs is going to be tough.

The fight for the final AFC Wild Card spot is tight, as they will be battling the Raiders, Chargers, Chiefs and Ravens for the right to go to the playoffs. Either the Chargers or Chiefs will most likely take the AFC West, leaving a battle of three teams for the final spot.

Buffalo takes on the Dolphins in Week 15, who are riding high after a big upset over the Patriots on Monday night. The Bills will be in for a tough matchup as the Dolphins will be looking to carry that momentum into Sunday’s game.
