3. A repeat performance from Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott is coming off his best performance of his short NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys, finishing 20-of-30 for a career-high 332 yards and three touchdowns against the New York Giants. It helped that the Cowboys had a 62-yard rushing performance from Alfred Morris, but Prescott is capable of having 300-yard games on a more consistent basis.

The numbers of Prescott this season don’t support the aforementioned statement of him being able to be that consistent, but with the talent the Cowboys have on the offense and his talent too, Prescott is a better quarterback than his numbers this season. A lot has happened with the offense with injuries and suspensions to key players, resulting in Prescott not having the numbers he had a season ago.

Prescott has completed 63.2 percent of his passes in 2017 (67.8 percent in 2016), and this season he’s passed for over 200 yards in seven games. Why the confidence in Prescott headed into Week 15, even with the Cowboys being 25th with 200.8 passing yards per game?

Think about this: the Raiders are 25th in the NFL in allowing 241.2 yards passing per game this season and 22nd in the NFL in allowing 350.8 yardsrushing per game this season.

This is toeing the line between occurring and being a little wishful thinking, but with the Cowboys needing a win, Prescott needs to be at his best, and his best is passing for over 300 yards in a game for a second straight week. Maybe last week was just the start of Prescott taking the next step, and if so, the Cowboys could have a legitimate chance to jump ahead of teams for a possible playoff spot.
