Chargers Coaching Staff

In what looked like a lost season for the Chargers in their first season in Los Angeles, the Bolts were able to rebound from an 0-4 start, finishing with 9-7 record, just missing the postseason by a hair. While sitting at home in January isn’t something that any team in the NFL strives for, I believe this coaching staff is relatively pleased right now, especially with how their squad finished the year.

More from Los Angeles Chargers

Just think about this for a second, Anthony Lynn, who was a rookie head coach for the Bolts this season, lost four-straight games to start the year. Needless to say, things couldn’t have gone any worse for him or his staff through the first month of year.

Playing in a make-shift football stadium, where there were consistently more opposing fans than Chargers faithful each weekend, Lynn somehow pulled his team from the depths of despair, back into the AFC Playoff race.

If the Chargers would’ve come through on a few clutch field goals earlier in the year, we would be talking about them hosting a playoff game this weekend. Unfortunately for Los Angeles, the what ifs of this league don’t matter whatsoever, you’re graded by wins and losses alone. That said, since the Chargers finished 9-3 after starting the season 0-4, I have no choice but to give their coaching staff a great grade.
