Buffalo Bills: 5 Offseason moves the team needs to make
By Nick Sparrow
2. Boost the Defensive Line
When the Bills traded away Marcell Dareus to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a sixth-round pick in October they left a hole in their defensive line. Buffalo had a problem with what they perceived as Dareus’ lack of effort, but whether the trade was a good move or not, the position now needs to be addressed in the offseason.

Sheldon Richardson and Dontari Poe will be the top options in free agency at the position but they are both likely to fetch a significant amount. The Bills would be smart to pay for one of the elite options available but there are other options if they are unwilling to do.
One of the best fits in the draft for the Bills would be defensive linemen Lowell Lotulelei out of Utah. Lotulelei is a prototype player on the defensive line that can shut the run down and get after the quarterback. Additionally, McDermott coached his brother, Star Lotulelei, as the defensive coordinator of the Carolina Panthers.
Derrick Nnandi out of Florida State and Dre’mont Jones out of Ohio State would also be good possible fits for the Bills in later rounds if Lotulelei is already taken. Much like the quarterback position, Buffalo will have many options to fill this position during the offseason and will just need to chose what path is best for the team.
