New York Jets: 2018 Offseason predictions through the draft
Muhammad Wilkerson
Wilkerson has become a nuisance and a malcontent in the locker room. If they can’t find a trade partner, the Jets will have to cut him. His production doesn’t supersede his behavior in recent weeks. He is also no longer worth the $20 million he’s due by the third day of the league year.

The Jets will have to move quickly. They must find a trade partner like they did for Sheldon Richardson. If they can’t find a trade partner, they will have to cut him before the third day (March 16) of the league year so that his $20 million doesn’t hit the books.
Unfortunately, the Jets can’t look back on this, no matter how he does somewhere else. It’s best for the team, and he doesn’t fit the culture Todd Bowles is trying to establish in the locker room.
People are looking at how Sheldon Richardson is playing in Seattle, and maybe desirous of his return. That said, it’s a spot where the Jets must let him go moving forward and not playing the what if game. Wilkerson is not what this team needs right now. They need veterans who will be good examples for the young players.
