2. Utilize Willie Snead

Technically this isn’t a mistake, but something the Saints needed. Willie Snead was suspended for Weeks 1-3 of the regular season. Considering it was a DUI, there was nothing the Saints could do. Since then, Snead has been a non-factor in the offense but that needs to change this week.

More from New Orleans Saints

The Saints need to work on reincorporating Snead into their offense and utilizing him as much as they can. In Week 1, Brees missed a lot of opportunities without Snead out there. Snead is an awesome route runner who tricks defenders and could keep the Vikings guessing.

Having Snead back out there opens up a lot of doors for the Saints. Not only will it open up Brees to make some costly throws Snead can go for, but keep the pressure off the other guys. It was hard to see them abandon the run, but they don’t need to abandon the passing game again either.

Reincorporating Snead won’t be easy, but he and Brees need to find a way to work together like they did before. The Vikings will likely have heavy coverage on Thomas and Kamara, so Snead will have to be the answer. If the Saints don’t utilize Snead, then he might be headed somewhere else next season.
