Chidobe Awuzie, CB

When on the field, Chidobe Awuzie showed the most potential of any of the Dallas Cowboys rookies this past season. After playing in 10 games for his rookie season, six of those being starts, Awuzie showed many he has the talent to help take the Cowboys defense up a few levels in their overall play in future seasons.

Sure, there is still work to be done, but in his rookie season, Awuzie collected an interception, had seven passes defended, forced one fumble and totaled 14 tackles (three solo). Remember, Awuzie was a second-round pick for the Cowboys (60th overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft, and for the talent he brings to the defense of the Cowboys when he’s on the field, this pick could eventually looked at as a steal if he stays healthy.

This past season, it was a hamstring injury that cost Awuzie six games, and he did have a shoulder injury as well in Week 17 abasing the Philadelphia Eagles. It will be a process for Awuzie to stay healthy on the field. His talent level is no question — he’s capable of being a difference maker on the defense if he’s able to stay on the field for more than 10 games next season.
