7. Kirk Cousins

The Jets will have to break the bank for Kirk Cousins, but is he worth it? In his time in the nation’s capital, he’s shown to be an above average quarterback. However, the one knock on his is the same one Peyton Manning had early in his career. To this point with the Redskins, it would seem that Cousins just can’t win big games.

Kirk Cousins is worth it from a statistical standpoint. He hasn’t had a great team around him in Washington, but he’s stepped up his game. In 2017, according to Pro Football Focus Elite, he was in the top ten in adjusted completion percentage. Additionally, in each of his three seasons as a starter, he’s completed over 64 percent of his passes, with totals of a little more that 67 percent passing and better than a 2-1 TD-INT ratio.

The knock of him not being able to win the big games is primarily a function of the team around him. Even the great Tom Brady didn’t have enough to lift the Patriots past the Eagles with the way their defense played. If the Jets can surround him with a good team, Cousins has the ability to make this team a viable contender.
