New York Giants: 5 First-round targets in 2018 NFL Draft
5. Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State
The Giants need playmakers on offense. Currently, their only playmaker is Odell Beckham Jr. Adding a playmaker at running back would definitely add a different dimension to this team.

Since the NFL has become a multiple back league, the value of running backs have diminished. People seem to be leery of taking a running back in the first round, especially the top 10. Many wonder aloud what the value of the running back position is, given its nature in today’s NFL climate.
When you have a game-changer at the position, though, he’s hard to pass up. Saquon Barkley is that game-changer. He can provide the Giants with a pass-catching weapon out of the backfield. All of the physical traits are there. He’s quick, fast, elusive, and patient. He will wait for the play to develop, find the hole and burst through it.
If Dave Gettlemen can work some magic and get the Giants some cap space to use of the offensive line, they need to take Barkley. He’s the weapon they need out of the backfield for the offense to make it to the next level. He would not only change the fortune for 2018, but many years to come in MetLife Stadium.
