3. Josh Rosen, QB, UCLA

Rosen is the most polished and pro-ready in the 2018 NFL Draft. There are quite a few red flags that show up with him though. The first is injuries. He got hit with the injury bug while at UCLA. He had concussions and a shoulder injury. He’s going to have to be durable in the NFL. Another issue he has is leadership/coachability.

One of the knocks on Rosen is his taking to coaching. He’s had some coaches say he’s tough to coach, and Rosen will have to take to it in the NFL. He also has some leadership concerns. He going to have to get the locker room to buy into him, and if that becomes an issue early on it will hurt the team.

He has the talent though. Rosen is accurate, has decent arm strength and is mechanically sound from head to toe. He’s also a smart player and will learn the playbook very quickly, especially coming from a pro-style offense where he played under center. If Rosen can calm down the personality issues and stay healthy, he would be an excellent franchise quarterback for the Jets. He has all the tools, it’s just a matter of the other things.
