5. Harold Landry, EDGE, Boston College

In Leonard Floyd, the Chicago Bears have a legitimate impact player at one edge rusher position. However, after moving on from Pernell McPhee and Willie Young this offseason, the Bears simply do not have a strong option on the roster to play opposite of Floyd. Free agent addition Aaron Lynch could become the guy, but the Bears could undoubtedly use an infusion of talent at the edge rusher position.

Bradley Chubb is the clear number one edge rusher in this draft class. However, there is no way that he will be available when the Bears go on the clock. That being said, Harold Landry is an extremely interesting prospect at the position who could easily be worth taking a chance on.

Landry is a fantastic athlete who showcases a quick first step and incredible bend around the edge. At 6-3, 252 pounds, Landry does not have ideal size for the position, but he has extremely long arms that certainly come in and when coming off of the edge.

Landry is a pure athletic rusher who does not really have a strong repertoire of pass rush moves. That being said, even if he does not grow as a rusher around the edge at the next level (he probably will), Landry’s pure skill set gives him a chance to compete.

Simply put, Landry is an extremely talented edge rusher who has massive upside at the next level. His ability to explode off the snap and bend around the edge is extremely exciting, making him a worthy target for the Bears at number eight.
