The offensive tackle issues for the Oakland Raiders have been well documented over the years. Donald Penn is a solid left tackle, but he is an aging player who may not be adequate much longer. Also, right tackle has been an absolute black hole that needs an immediate upgrade.

The free agent addition of Breno Giacomini will help stabilize the Raiders’ right tackle situation, but it is certainly not a long-term fix. The Raiders need to figure out their issues at offensive tackle as soon as possible. In this mock draft, they snag Jamarco Jones, an offensive tackle prospect who could help this team both now and in the future.

Even when it comes to offensive linemen, Jones is not the flashiest NFL prospect. He does not have elite-level quickness or athleticism, nor is he is an overwhelming offensive tackle with ridiculous power. That being said, he is an extremely balanced player who has a strong overall skill set.

Jones is not going to wow you, but he shows fantastic technique and balance at the offensive tackle position. He is a reliable pass protector who can handle both power and speed, and is also a strong run blocker who consistently opens up holes in the run game.

In this scenario, the Raiders snag Jones at a nice value in the draft. He could come in and compete for the starting right tackle position. On top of that, Jones would give the Raiders a legitimate prospect who could grow into a strong left tackle to eventually take over for Penn.
