The thought is that the Giants must take a quarterback here to solidify their post-Eli Manning future. However, that is not true. The Giants want to build another Super Bowl caliber team for Manning to lead, and the best way to do that is to continue to build the defense and the offense.

With the team switching to a 3-4, the most important position of the defense is edge rusher. The edge rusher is the guy mostly responsible for getting pressure on the opposing quarterback, and that’s why the Giants should take Chubb at No. 2.

Chubb is the kind of player that look like the player you want, but also, he is has the skills you need in a 3-4 edge rusher. Chubb has the size, speed, athleticism, and moves you want in a superior edge rusher, and he doesn’t take plays off.

He can get to the quarterback in a variety of ways. Chubb is also not just a pass rush specialist. He can set the edge and can chase down running backs if they get around the edge or close down cutback lanes. Chubb is the guy the Giants need, and he will fill the immediate gaping hole on their defense.
