The Giants are making a change on defense. They are switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4, and that means the edge rusher is in a different place. In recent vintage, the Giants have had their edge rusher on the end of the defensive line (Michael Strahan, Jason Pierre-Paul). Chubb will be making a move himself to 3-4 outside linebacker.

Chubb is one of the most physically gifted players (especially on defense) in the 2018 NFL Draft. He has natural talent and uses his gifts well. He would’ve been a Day 1 or 2 selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, but he went back to school to correct some deficiencies in his game, and now he’s a top-five selection.

At 6-4, 269 pounds, Chubb has size and athleticism that coaches look for in an edge rusher. He has the ability to close the rush lanes and chase down running backs on the backside. He’s relentless in getting after the opposing quarterback. When you look at his competition as an edge rusher, it was top-notch.

Chubb isn’t a liability against the run. So, he’s a perfect fit to start Week 1 for Big Blue. He will give the back end of the defense the help they need. Chubb is the edge rusher the Giants need.
