2018 NFL Mock Draft: Two complete rounds including massive trades
If the right offer comes around, I could certainly see the Cleveland Browns trading this pick. With the quarterback needy Denver Broncos up next, this pick could be extremely valuable on the trade market. That being said, new Browns general manager John Dorsey may not want to trade down a premium pick like his predecessors liked to do so frequently. Personally, I think Dorsey would like to add two top-tier talents in this draft class instead of messing around with trade down situations.
In this 2018 NFL mock draft, the Cleveland Browns stay put and select edge rusher Bradley Chubb.
Now that they have their franchise quarterback in Darnold, the Browns are in a great position to simply take the best player available. With Myles Garrett and Emmanuel Ogbah on the roster, the Browns do not have a major need at edge rusher. However, they have a relatively well-rounded roster and could add a luxury player like Chubb to the mix. Simply put, Cleveland just needs to add impact talent to the mix.
Chubb is clearly the best defensive end prospect in this draft class, showing an extremely balanced skill set on the outside. He is a quick and athletic rusher who bends around the edge well, but Chubb also showcases great length and power, making him more than just a speed rusher on the edge. He does not have the elite upside of a guy like Myles Garrett, but Chubb is an extremely talented player who would help take the Browns defense to the next level.
A defensive line mix of Garrett, Chubb, Ogbah, Larry Ogunjobi, Chris Smith and Caleb Brantley would be an absolute nightmare for opposing quarterbacks to deal with.
