2018 NFL Mock Draft: Two complete rounds including massive trades
This 2018 NFL mock draft would not be the best case scenario for the Indianapolis Colts. In a perfect world, the Colts would be able to take Chubb to fill their obvious hole at defensive end or Nelson to help protect Andrew Luck. However, in this scenario, both players are off of the board and the Colts must adapt.
In this specific situation, I would expect the Colts to entertain trade down offers. However, nothing is tempting enough for them to pass up an opportunity to draft Penn State running back Saquon Barkley.
Barkley is not only best running back in this draft class, he may be better than all of the elite players who have entered the league at the position in recent years. Yes, Barkley could be every bit as good or even better than guys like Todd Gurley, Ezekiel Elliott and Leonard Fournette.
Simply put, Barkley has it all at the running back position. He is a quick and elusive back who can make any defender miss in open space. He also shows elite-level athleticism and legitimate break away speed, along with fantastic receiver skills out of the backfield. On top of that, at 6-foot-0, 233 pounds, Barkley is a bigger back who is difficult to bring down by one defender.
This guy is a true playmaker at the running back position who could come in and immediately become the centerpiece of the Colts offense. Barkley is a near perfect prospect who would undoubtedly help Luck and the Colts going forward. Snagging him at number six in this 2018 NFL mock draft could end up being a major steal.
