Special teams (3): Dan Bailey, Chris Jones, L.P. Ladoceur

They may have added Brett Maher as a kicker and Scott Daly as a long snapper, but that’s simply to keep the guys they will depend on when the season kicks off fresh. Instead, Dallas will trot out their trusty veterans like they always do.

Dan Bailey struggled some in 2017, which is the main reason a guy like Maher was brought in. He will most likely handle every single kickoff and about 90 percent of the field goals and extra points in the preseason and training camp as Bailey saves his leg for when it counts.

Bailey was 15-of-20 on field goals and 26-of-28 0n extra points. Those were his only missed point after tries in his seven-year career, so don’t expect that to continue.

Chris Jones is an underrated weapon that pinned opponents inside their own 20-yard line 34 times last season. He was also the guy who took off on that beautiful fake punt that went for 24-yards. How about this stat — it was the shortest rush attempt of his career. Ok, he’s ran it twice, but that still sounds great.

Rounding off the group is long snapper L.P. Ladoceur. The longest-tenured Cowboy, Ladoceur has not had a bad snap since joining the team in 2005. If you don’t hear his name, that’s a good thing. It means he’s doing his job right.
