Atlanta Falcons: 3 Bold predictions for Tevin Coleman in 2018
By Derek Snyder
2. Coleman will finish 2018 with a career-high in rushing yards
We’ve seen some flashes of Tevin Coleman’s greatness in year’s past, but I believe we’ve only seen the tip of the iceberg. He came into his rookie year looking like the Falcons starting running back, but an injury sent him to the bench and gave Devonta Freeman the opportunity to win the starting job. Needless to say, Freeman hasn’t given an inch since.

I know we’ve already spoken about how differently Atlanta plans to use Coleman in 2018, but quite honestly, that’s the main reason why I believe he’ll rush for a career-high in rushing yards this year. That may sound like a tall-task for a guy who won’t be the team’s featured back, but we have to remember, his highest single-season rushing total is only 628 yards.
It’s quite easy to see Coleman breaking through that ceiling in 2018; however, it’s a bold prediction because the Falcons only have so many touches to hand out.
By adding more talent to the offensive side of the football this offseason, Steve Sarkisian will have more than enough opportunities to look like a genius. That said, if he wants to make the jump from year-one to year-two like Kyle Shanahan, he must give Coleman the football over and over again.
