The 2018 first-round pick of the Tennessee Titans will be featured prominently on this list. In the meantime, general manager Jon Robinson made sure he had a little insurance when it came to a key area on the team’s defensive unit. And this was well before the team used the 22nd overall pick on April 26 to grab University of Alabama inside linebacker Rashaan Evans.

The team executive made a minor investment on a player from a club that has a few years ago provided the Titans with one of its current defensive starters. And if former Washington Redskins’ inside linebacker Will Compton can bounce back from a season-ending injury that caused him to miss the final seven games of 2017, the Tennessee defense could improve on its uneven 2017 performance.

During his five-year stay in the nation’s capital, Compton was a productive player. In 2015, he totaled 93 tackles, one sack, a pair of takeaways and three passes defensed. One year later, the 6-1, 235-pound pro started a career-best 15 games and racked up 103 tackles. He also picked off one pass, knocked down five more attempts and totaled a pair of fumble recoveries.

Of course, Compton’s play at times drew mixed reviews. And this past season with the ‘Skins, he started only three games before going down in November. In any case, he’s a low-risk pickup for the Titans but could also wind up being a solid addition if the five-year performer can stay healthy this year.
