This offseason, the New Orleans Saints brought back a number of players who had previously spent time with the organization. Earlier this year, the club signed unrestricted free agents Jermon Bushrod and Benjamin Watson. Both enjoyed solid stints with Sean Payton’s squad in the past. The latter led the Saints finished second on the team with 74 receptions in 2015, six of those for scores.

Such is the case with veteran cornerback Patrick Robinson, who comes off a tremendous season with the now-defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. He totaled 45 tackles and also led the Birds with in both interceptions (4) and passes defensed (18). Robinson also made a big impression in the NFC title game win over the Minnesota Vikings as he returned a Case Keenum interception for a score.

A return to the Big Easy means that that 32nd overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft will be playing for his fourth different team in as many years. After five seasons with Sean Payton’s club, he moved onto the Chargers and Colts before joining the Eagles in 2017.

The return of Robinson means more experienced depth for a defense that made significant strides this past season. And the eight-year pro isn’t the only change when it comes to coordinator Dennis Allen’s unit this offseason.
