4. Newfound glut of weapons

Forgettable would be understating how awful the Bears group of weapons were last year. Yes, the running back tandem of Tarik Cohen and Jordan Howard were solid, but the former wasn’t utilized nearly as creatively as he should’ve been. Outside of that, Chicago entered the season with seemingly one reliable receiving weapon, Cameron Meredith, and he went down early on with a season-ending injury. Things were just ugly from there.

Bears general manager Ryan Pace clearly wasn’t about to let that happen again as Chicago’s offense is now bursting with talent. In free agency, they made a splash by landing wide receiver Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel, two unique and game-changing talents, in addition to tight end Trey Burton. They weren’t done there, however, as the Bears also landed wide receiver Anthony Miller in the second round, a guy who seems ready to play and contribute right away.

Trubisky now has the weapons around him to succeed even more so. More specifically, these new pieces on offense will help the young quarterback thrive as opposed to him succeeding in spite of the lack of talent around him, which was largely the case when he flashed last season. When you couple that with the changes on the coaching staff (more coming on that), this newfound group of weapons really takes the Bears offense up a few notches.
