Los Angeles Rams: Do they have their own version of LeBron James?
With LeBron James taking his talents to Los Angeles, it begs the question. Do the Los Angeles Rams have their own version of LeBron?
The Los Angeles Rams are looking to repeat their success in 2017. However, one thing the team lacks is a solid fan-following. Piggybacking off their move from St. Louis, there’s been a bit of tension. There’s one person who doesn’t have a problem collecting fans and that’s LeBron James.
Despite his love and admiration for Cleveland, LeBron James packed up and moved to the West. Now a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, everyone is talking about him even more. James is such a huge playmaker and cultural figure but do the Rams have their own version of King James?

What makes LeBron better than the rest is his talent. Even if you don’t like LeBron, there’s no denying he’s talented. He can talk the talk and walk the walk. Multiple championships later, he’s become the most recognizable face for the 21st century NBA.
Off-the-court, LeBron is known for giving back to his community and being a family man. As talented as he is, he’s shown his true character off-the-court. Most recently, James opened the “I Promise School,” a public school created by him to teach kids grades 1-8 eventually and featuring a STEM curriculum. LeBron James is a one-of-a-kind player and person.
Moving onto the Los Angeles Rams, there’s definitely a few players who are similar to LeBron. Brandin Cooks is an example as he’s extremely talented, hosts football camps but doesn’t have the experience or presence as LeBron. Another player worth nothing is Aaron Donald.
Donald has won both Defensive Player of the Year as well as Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. He’s one of the best DEs in the game and is an anchor for the team’s defense. Additionally, he’s partnered up with the “Make-A-Wish Foundation.” What keeps him from his list is his current hold-out. It’s both helping him and hurting him as he’ll hopefully get a new contract but could end up falling behind.
The last player is none other than Todd Gurley. Gurley is currently at the top of his game, just signed a mega-contract and is poised for glory once again. Even with multiple injuries, Gurley still managed to be a top-tier running back. The talent is there when it comes to Gurley.
Moving onto Gurley off-the-field, he’s known for donating to the Shriners Hospital for Children, host football camps and plays in charity games. Once again, he is on the same level as the King.
What’s holding him back is his lack of experience. Gurley is only in his fourth year with the Rams. While he’s playing at a high level now, will he be playing at the same level when he’s Lebron’s age? Right now, he’s the closest player on the Rams to LeBron but only time will tell.
Either way, the Rams are still poised to have a big year. With Gurley and Cooks together, the offense is going to be dynamic. Coupled with their huge defensive play-makers, 2018 could be the year of the Ram.
