2. Will suspended players take the field?

Despite the hype around the New Orleans Saints, there’s still a bit of hesitation around them, too. Two players: one looking to make an impact and the other, a huge offensive force are both suspended. According to NFL’s rulebook, players are allowed to participate in offseason programs and preseason games.

Between the two, it’s more likely that Josh Huff will take the field. Huff played from 2014-16 until leaving the game for a year. In 2018, he became a member of the Saints and was suspended shortly after. Huff showed some flashes during his time in Philly and has a chance at duplicating that success.

With the possibility of Brandon Coleman being out and the loss of Willie Snead, a preseason showing could move Huff up the depth chart. The Saints gave him a chance and playing in Week 1 of the preseason should help cement that decision.

The other suspended player is, of course, Mark Ingram. Losing Ingram is a huge blow to the depth chart and one the Saints have tried to repair. With his suspension looming though, the Saints might give him a chance to play during the preseason.

Even if Ingram doesn’t play Week 1, he still has three more chances. Between the two, fans should be watching to see if Huff takes the field.
