5. Tim Boyle, Quarterback

Perhaps one of the biggest shocks on this list, Tim Boyle has actually been the most-consistent quarterback behind Aaron Rodgers in training camp thus far. Boyle was signed as an undrafted free agent this spring, where many thought he would merely be a ‘camp arm’.

Last season at Eastern Kentucky, Boyle threw for 2,134 yards, 11 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He also had a 61.5 completion percentage. His best game came against Western Kentucky, in which he threw for 320 yards and two touchdowns. At 6-4, 233 lbs, Boyle’s size is what made scouts really notice him.

The Packers peaked interest when Boyle had an impressive showing at his Pro Day. He clocked in at 4.75 in the forty-yard dash, jumped 35.5 inches in the vertical leap, bench pressed 225 lbs 16 times and recorded a 7.03 in the three-cone drill.

Boyle has been showing out so far, exceeding original expectations. During the Packers annual family night practice on Aug. 4, Boyle was the one to get reps with the second-team; a possible sign of things to come. Although it’s unlikely he’ll pass Brett Hundley or DeShone Kizer on the depth chart, Boyle is still a name to keep an eye on.
